(Warsaw, November 24, 2008)  Starting November 24, 2008, freight service of groupage goods between Poland and Switzerland will be provided from Monday through Friday. The latest investment offered by DB Schenker in Poland is the groupage shipping service handled from Tarnowo Podgorne near Pozan to terminals in Eiken (near Basel) and Embrach (near Zurich).
DB Schenker’s domestic network in Poland guarantees that shipments are collected from each Polish location and delivered within one day to export terminal from where they are next forwarded abroad. “This allows us to provide fixed shipments of groupage cargo to and from Switzerland in the shortest possible time. Daily, fixed schedule and short time of delivery is exactly what distinguishes this solution from other offers available on the market,” says Tomasz Cegielski, Land International Director at Schenker Sp. z o.o.
DB Schenker customers will benefit from the new freight connection as it allows them to plan their delivery and production more effectively. This is crucial for enterprises for which time of service processing and daily flow of goods constitute key parameters of their business strategy. This particularly applies to Hi-Tech and FMCG business, as well as machine and electrical engineering industry. DB Schenker offers a similar import service from Switzerland for almost two years. It has been very well received by the market and has resulted in an increase in the volume of shipped goods in this relation by more than 40 per cent in comparison with the previous year.
