Management Systems in Schenker Sp. z o.o.

Schenker Sp. z o.o. has an Integrated Quality, Environment and Work Safety Management System consistent with the following norms:

  • ISO 9001:2000 – covering all services – domestic and international as well as all units of Schenker Sp. z o.o. Quality Management System was verified in 2004 for the years to come by Det Norske Veritas.
  • ISO 14001:2004 – certifies that Schenker Sp. z o.o. has and applies the environment management system and its business operations are compliant with the environment protection regulations.
  • OHSAS 18001:2007 – the safety management system and health and safety regulations to guarantee full adjustment of the management system to the domestic and international work safety management norms.
  • ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management System. The main aspects of the System are: ensuring that access to information is allowed only to authorized persons ensuring information integrity (consistency of information and the systems which process it). The system also guarantees confidentiality of information, a crucial issue for many clients.

Undoubtedly, the advantage of a management system based on ISO 9001 over the previous system is a process-oriented approach to all actions and operations within the company. The main processes within the organisation have been identified, clearly described and correlated. Each process has its owner, i.e. the person responsible for its effectiveness and efficiency. We have a wide range of techniques to measure these processes, which we continue to develop and monitor.

Business process management is not a new phenomenon. Some of its aspects were already in use several years ago as good practices and know-how that we acquire as a part of the DB Schenker group.

Many elements of the 2000 norm were also nothing new. For example, the customer satisfaction survey: Schenker Sp. z o.o. has been outsourcing such a research to a specialized research company for many years.

However now we can say that we are a ‘business process managed’ company. It was confirmed during the re-certification audit conducted by an independent certifying unit, Det Norske Veritas.

We know that although this is just another step in our development, it is a very important step. We wish to improve our processes and render the services of best quality.
